7 An Act relating to aerospace, aircraft, and aviation
7 infrastructure; defining term; requiring certain
8 airports grant certain benefit to certain veterans;
8 providing for codification; providing an effective
9 date; and declaring an emergency.

1 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
1 4 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 65.23 of Title 3, unless there
14
1 5 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15
16 A. As used in this section, "public airport" means an airport
16
1 7 open to use by all persons without prior permission of the airport
17
1 8 lessee or operator, and without restrictions within the physical
18
1 9 capacities of its available facilities.
19
20 B. A public airport that owns, operates, or leases parking
20
2 1 facilities shall grant free parking to a vehicle owned and occupied
21
2 2 as either a driver or passenger by a veteran who has been honorably
22
2 3 discharged from active service in any branch of the Armed Forces of
23
2 4 the United States or the Oklahoma National Guard and who has been

1 certified by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or the
1
2 Armed Forces of the United States as having a disability of one
2
3 hundred percent (100%). Documentation certifying such disability
3
4 shall be presented to the public airport to waive any fee associated
4
5 with using such facility.

6 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.
6
7 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
7
8 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
8
9 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
9
1 0 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
