7   An Act relating to firearms; amending 21 O.S. 2021,

7   Section 1290.6, which relates to the Oklahoma Self-

8   Defense Act; modifying scope of certain unlawful act;

8   removing administrative penalty; and providing an

9   effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12  SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY   21 O.S. 2021, Section 1290.6, is

12

13 amended to read as follows:
13

14  Section 1290.6.

15                   PROHIBITED AMMUNITION

15

16  Any concealed or unconcealed handgun when carried in a manner

16

17 authorized by the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act and
17

18 when loaded with any ammunition which is either a restricted bullet
18

19 as defined by Section 1289.19 of this title or is larger than .45
19

20 caliber or is otherwise prohibited by law shall be deemed a
20

21 prohibited weapon for purposes of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act.
21

22 Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
22

23 punished for a criminal offense as provided by Section 1272 of this
23

24 title or any other applicable provision of law. In addition to any

1 criminal prosecution for a violation of the provisions of this
1

2 section, the licensee shall be subject to an administrative fine of
2

3 Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), upon a hearing and determination by
3

4 the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that the person is in
4

5 violation of the provisions of this section.
5

6   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
