7 An Act relating to plumbing licenses; amending 59
7 O.S. 2021, Section 1009, which relates to duration of
8 licenses; extending duration of certain license
8 renewal; updating statutory references; and providing
9 an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 1009, is
12
13 amended to read as follows:
13
14 Section 1009. No license shall be issued for longer than one
14
15 (1) year three (3) years and all licenses shall expire on the last
15
16 day in the birth month of the licensee. Such licenses may be
16
17 renewed upon application and payment of fees within thirty (30) days
17
18 preceding or following the date the license renewal is due. No
18
19 journeyman or contractor license shall be renewed unless the
19
20 licensee has completed the required hours of continuing education as
20
21 determined and approved by the Oklahoma State Committee of Plumbing
21
22 Examiners. The Committee may renew licenses upon application made
22
23 more than thirty (30) days following the date of expiration only
23
24 upon payment of the renewal and additional fee prescribed and upon

1 compliance with any applicable continuing education requirements as

2 established by the Construction Industries Board and this act The
2
3 Plumbing License Law of 1955. Provided that no penalty for renewal
3
4 shall be charged to any holder of a license which expires while such
4
5 holder is in military service if application is made within one(1)
5
6 year following discharge from the military service.

7 Apprentice registration certificates expire one (1) year three
7
8 (3) years after date of registration, at which time the apprentice
8
9 may reregister.

10 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
