6 An Act relating to water and water rights; defining
6 term; construing provision; providing for
7 codification; and providing an effective date.

9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

10 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
10
11 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1702 of Title 82, unless there
11
12 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

13 A "basin integrity study" means a scientific study to determine
13
14 sustainable instream flow regimes tailored for certain basins in
14
15 certain seasons in this state. Results of such studies shall meet
15
16 the demand of consumptive and nonconsumptive uses including, but not
16
17 limited to, sustainable growth, water quality, tourism, and
17
18 economic, agricultural, environmental, industrial, and municipal
18
19 development. A basin integrity study shall not be construed as a
19
20 means to revoke private water rights or interfere with senior water
20
21 permitting.

22 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
