6 AS INTRODUCED
7 An Act relating to insurance; permitting certified
certificate of death as proof for small life
8 insurance policies; clarifying certificate must be
accompanied by sworn statement; providing for
9 codification; and providing an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
12 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 4013.1 of Title 36, unless there
14 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15 In the case of any life insurance policy with a value of Fifteen
16 Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) or less, proof of death may be
17 furnished by submission of a certified certificate of death with a
18 pending manner or cause, accompanied by a sworn statement by the
19 funeral director who conducted burial services that the certificate
20 is authentic and the death has occurred.
21 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
