6 AS INTRODUCED
7 An Act relating to notaries; amending 49 O.S. 2021,
Section 1.1, which relates to notary commission
8 applications; removing home address requirement; and
providing an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
12 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 49 O.S. 2021, Section 1.1, is
13 amended to read as follows:
14 Section 1.1. The application for a notary commission shall set
15 forth:
16 1. The name of the applicant, printed exactly as the applicant
17 will sign documents as a notary public;
18 2. Former names of the applicant, if any;
19 3. If a resident of this state, the county of residence and
20 street address of the applicant;
21 4. If a resident of another state, the county and street
22 address of the applicant's place of employment in Oklahoma and the
23 applicant's residence address;
24 5. 4. Daytime phone number of the applicant;

1 6. 5. Electronic mail address of the applicant;
2 7. 6. A statement that the applicant is at least eighteen (18)
3 years of age;
4 8. 7. A designation of new, renewal, or expired commission
5 including an expiration date if applicable;
6 9. 8. A statement that the applicant is a citizen of the United
7 States;
8 10. 9. A statement that the applicant has never been convicted
9 of a felony;
10 11. 10. A statement that the applicant is able to read and
11 write in English; and
12 12. 11. Signature of the applicant, exactly as the applicant
13 will sign documents as a notary public.
14 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
