6 AS INTRODUCED
7 An Act relating to health care; allowing health care
providers to prescribe alternative treatment;
8 prohibiting repercussions; allowing parents or legal
guardians to provide alternative treatments to their
9 child; prohibiting legal repercussions; providing for
codification; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7500 of Title 63, unless there
15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
16 A. A physician, including allopathic, osteopathic, and
17 naturopathic, advanced practice nurse practitioner, and physicians
18 assistant shall have the right to prescribe, recommend, or suggest
19 holistic or natural medicine or alternative treatment to patients
20 under his or her care if the health care provider believes the
21 treatment will be effective or beneficial to his or her patient to
22 relieve pain or help cure the patient's ailment. There shall be no
23 repercussions, including but not limited to, losing his or her

1 respective medical license for treating his or her patient to the
2 best of his or her ability.
3 B. A parent or legal guardian shall have the right to treat his
4 or her child with holistic or natural medicine or an alternative
5 treatment to what the health care provider suggests or recommends.
6 It shall be the parent or legal guardians right to deviate from a
7 suggestion or recommendation from a health care provider if the
8 parent or legal guardian believes that is in the best interest of
9 the child. There shall be no legal repercussions to the parent or
10 legal guardian, including but not limited to, child neglect.
11 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
