7                            AS INTRODUCED

8   An Act relating to education; requiring a minimum of

    60-minute math instruction per day for kindergarten

9   through fifth-grade students; requiring math

    instruction to align with the Oklahoma Academic

10  Standards for Mathematics; providing for

    codification; providing an effective date; and

11  declaring an emergency.

15 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

16  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

17 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.908 of Title 70, unless

18 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

19  Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, all public elementary

20 schools shall provide instruction in mathematics for a minimum of

21 sixty (60) minutes each day for students in full-day kindergarten

22 and grades one through five. The instruction required by this

23 section shall align with the Oklahoma Academic Standards for

24 Mathematics (OAS-M) as approved by the State Board of Education.

1   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.

2   SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation

3 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby

4 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and

5 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
