7   An Act relating to public safety; amending 63 O.S.

    2021, Section 683.24, which relates to the Emergency

8   Management Disaster Relief Matching Fund; modifying

    provisions related to matching requirements with

9   respect to federally declared disaster; providing an

    effective date; and declaring an emergency.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14  SECTION 1.      AMENDATORY  63 O.S. 2021, Section 683.24, is

15 amended to read as follows:

16  Section 683.24. There is hereby created in the State Treasury a

17 special fund for the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, to

18 be designated the Emergency Management Disaster Relief Matching

19 Fund. The fund shall be a continuing fund not subject to fiscal

20 year limitations, and shall be composed of monies that may be

21 appropriated to or otherwise received by said fund. Said fund is to

22 be utilized as the state's share of matching requirements for

23 federal funds advanced under the provisions of Sections 402, 403 and

24 419, Public Law 93-288, Disaster Relief Act of 1974 and shall not be

1 subject to legislative appropriation. The State's matching

2 requirements for federal funds shall be equally shared by the State

3 of Oklahoma and the political subdivisions which receive Public

4 Assistance Program resources administered by the Federal Emergency

5 Management Agency as a result of a federally declared disaster.

6   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.

7   SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation

8 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby

9 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and

10 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
