6                            AS INTRODUCED

7   An Act relating to electric vehicles; prohibiting

    certain actions by electric vehicle charging

8   providers; requiring certain options for payment;

    making certain exceptions; providing for

9   codification; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 160.39 of Title 17, unless there

15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

16  A. Electric vehicle charging providers that provide electric

17 vehicle charging stations that are open to the general public shall

18 not require a user to hold or obtain a membership, subscription, or

19 similar account to access or use the charging services. In

20 addition, providers shall not collect, store, or require any

21 personally identifiable information from users except for

22 information strictly necessary to complete the payment transaction.

23 Providers shall provide an option for users to pay through

24 universally accepted payment methods, including, but not limited to,

1 credit cards, debit cards, or mobile payment systems, without

2 requiring any additional registration or disclosure of personal

3 data.

4   B. This section shall not apply to private charging stations or

5 those designated for exclusive use by specific individuals,

6 businesses, or organizations.

7   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
