6                             AS INTRODUCED

7   An Act relating to counties and county officers;

    directing county offices and courts to offer option

8   to pay via credit card for all transactions;

    permitting county offices and courts to pass on

9   service fee; directing county offices and courts to

    provide forms; prohibiting charging a fee for forms;

10  mandating county offices and courts have a notary

    during business hours; permitting one notary for

11  county offices within a single building; prohibiting

    notaries from charging a fee; providing for

12  codification; and providing an effective date.

15 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

16  SECTION 1.       NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

17 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 272 of Title 19, unless there is

18 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

19  All county offices and courts shall offer the option to pay via

20 credit card for all transactions. County offices and courts shall

21 be allowed to pass the service fee onto the person requesting to pay

22 via credit card.

1   SECTION 2.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

2 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 273 of Title 19, unless there is

3 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

4   All county offices, including courts, shall be responsible for

5 providing any forms necessary to citizens of the county when

6 conducting business or legal proceedings with that county office or

7 court. County offices and courts may not charge a fee for providing

8 or printing such forms.

9   SECTION 3.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

10 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 274 of Title 19, unless there is

11 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

12  A. Every county office, including the county clerk's office,

13 the county treasurer's office, the county assessor's office, and the

14 county courthouse, shall have a notary available during business

15 hours.

16  B. The notary may not charge a fee for their services.

17  SECTION 4. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
