6 AS INTRODUCED
7 An Act relating to geographic literacy; making an
appropriation; providing an effective date; and
8 declaring an emergency.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
12 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the Oklahoma State
13 Department of Education from any monies not otherwise appropriated
14 from the General Revenue Fund of the State Treasury for the fiscal
15 year ending June 30, 2026, the sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand
16 Dollars ($150,000.00) or so much thereof as may be necessary for the
17 purpose of entering into a contract with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
18 organization headquartered in Oklahoma, that specializes in
19 geography instruction and training of educators, to increase
20 geographic literacy in Oklahoma schools.
21 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.
22 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
23 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby

1 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
2 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
