6                            AS INTRODUCED

7   An Act relating to elections; creating the Task Force

    on Young Voter Engagement; providing issues task

8   force will examine; providing makeup of task force;

    directing task force to meet on certain days;

9   directing the Oklahoma House of Representatives to

    provide space; clarifying meetings are subject to the

10  Open Meetings Act; directing task force to publish

    report by certain date; providing for codification;

11  and providing an effective date.

14 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

15  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

16 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 23-101 of Title 26, unless there

17 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

18  A. There is hereby created to continue until December 31, 2027,

19 the Task Force on Young Voter Engagement. The task force will

20 examine the issues related to voter turnout for voters under the age

21 of thirty (30) years and shall provide a report with recommendations

22 to the Legislature and the Governor's Office.

23  B. The task force will have nine (9) members as follows:

1   1. Three persons between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24)

2 years of age appointed by the Governor;

3   2. Three persons between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24)

4 years of age appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of

5 Representatives; and

6   3. Three persons between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24)

7 years of age appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the State

8 Senate.

9   C. The task force shall meet on the first Monday of each month

10 until December 31, 2027.

11  D. The Oklahoma House of Representatives shall provide space

12 for the task force to meet.

13  E. Meetings of the task force shall be subject to the Oklahoma

14 Open Meetings Act outlined in Title 25.

15  F. The task force shall publish its findings and

16 recommendations by December 1, 2027, including recommendations for

17 any resulting legislation.

18  SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
