7 An Act relating to education; permitting school
districts to employ or accept volunteer chaplains;
8 clarifying certification requirements; prohibiting
certain individuals involved in certain cases;
9 providing for codification; and providing an
effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.205 of Title 70, unless
16 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
17 A. A school district may employ or accept one or more volunteer
18 chaplains to provide support, services, and programs for students as
19 assigned by the governing body of the school. A chaplain employed
20 or volunteering under this act is not required to be certified by
21 the State Department of Education.
22 B. A school district may not employ or accept as a volunteer a
23 chaplain who has been convicted of or is a defendant for an offense
24 that requires the defendant to register as a sex offender.

1 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
