Directs the Department of Transportation to grant a permanent access and construction easement to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the use of a portion of DOT-owned land to support potential future rail yard development.

VETO MESSAGE - No. 162 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 8349-A, entitled: "AN ACT in relation to directing the Department of Transportation to grant a permanent access and construction easement to the Metro- politan Transportation Authority" NOT APPROVED This bill would compel the State Department of Transportation to convey, for one dollar, an easement to Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the purpose of the construction of a future railyard, while preserving the ability to straighten New York State Route 25A to preserve egress routes in Long Island.
