VETO MESSAGE - No. 157 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 7854, entitled: "AN ACT in relation to granting retroactive Tier II membership in the New York state and local police and fire retirement system to Giuseppe T. Rosini" NOT APPROVED This bill provides retirement tier reclassification for an individual public employee. I have great respect for our public sector workforce, who have dedi- cated their lives to supporting their fellow New Yorkers. However, there are similarly situated employees throughout the State, and this bill would provide a tier reclassification to only one individual. It would not be appropriate to grant such benefits to one individual but not others. Therefore, I am constrained to veto this bill. The bill is disapproved. (signed) KATHY HOCHUL __________...
