VETO MESSAGE - No. 89 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 4926, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the workers' compensation law, in relation to contracted network pharmacy use" NOT APPROVED This bill would change the process for obtaining prescription medica- tion to allow claimants to obtain prescriptions outside the payer's pharmacy network upon a factual finding of specified circumstances related to the medication not being authorized. This bill would increase litigation and add bureaucratic steps for the Workers' Compensation Board. Before the injured worker may go out of network, they would need to demonstrate that one of the reasons speci- fied by the bill for going out of network has occurred.
