Relates to commuter passes on the New York state thruway in the Syracuse area

Authorizes the New York state thruway authority to issue annual short distance commuter permits which shall provide for travel at no charge between interchanges in permit areas.

VETO MESSAGE - No. 88 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 4830-A, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to commuter passes on the New York state thruway in the Syracuse area; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration there- of" NOT APPROVED This bill authorizes the Thruway Authority to issue annual short distance commuter permits for travel at no charge between interchanges in permit areas defined to be Interchanges 34-A, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 39. Thruway operations are funded by toll revenue and permitting free or reduced travel must be done in compliance with the requirements of the Authority's Bond Resolution.
