VETO MESSAGE - No. 109 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 405, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to adding certain proper- ties to the definition of a qualified historic home for the historic homeownership rehabilitation credit" NOT APPROVED This bill would expand, for purposes of the historic homeownership rehabilitation tax credit, the definition of a "qualified historic home" to include historic homes located in New York City in a "qualifying census tract" as of January 1, 2017, provided the historic home was owned by the taxpayer on January 1, 2010. The existing historic homeownership rehabilitation tax credit has been available since 2007 to homeowners rehabilitating their homes throughout New York State.
