VETO MESSAGE - No. 85 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 3786, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to including remedi- al services, homework or childcare as the transportation responsi- bility of the city school district located in a city having a population of one million or more" NOT APPROVED This bill requires the City of New York, as part of its After 4pm busing program, to provide transportation or reimbursement for children attending public and nonpublic schools in grades K-6 not only for regu- larly scheduled classes, as is currently the case, but for the addi- tional purposes of receiving remedial services, completing homework, or receiving childcare.
