Relates to coverage for services provided by school-based health centers for medical assistance recipients

Ensures services provided in school-based health centers are not provided to medical assistance recipients through managed care programs.

VETO MESSAGE - No. 45 TO THE SENATE: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Senate Bill Number 1224, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to coverage for services provided by school-based health centers for medical assistance recipients" NOT APPROVED This bill would permanently keep services provided by school-based health centers outside of the Medicaid managed care benefit package. Since taking office, I have prioritized tackling the youth mental health crisis including by investing $1 billion to transform the contin- uum of care and increasing the reimbursement rates for school-based health centers. However, these critical services do not constitute the full spectrum of care and coordination that a Medicaid managed care plan provides.
