VETO MESSAGE - No. 74 TO THE ASSEMBLY: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Assembly Bill Number 8090, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to requiring the commis- sioner of health to produce a report on the utilization and activ- ity of the elderly pharmaceutical insurance coverage program" NOT APPROVED This bill would require the Commissioner of Health to produce a report on the utilization and activity of the elderly pharmaceutical insurance coverage (EPIC) program. The Department of Health is already in the process of preparing an annual report with this information, which will be posted to its website in the second quarter of each calendar year. Therefore, no legislation is required to accomplish that goal. Therefore, I am constrained to veto this bill. The bill is disapproved. (signed) KATHY HOCHUL __________...
