 AN ACT to amend chapter 329 of the laws of  2009,  amending  the  family
   court  act  and  the  social services law relating to removing special
   powers granted to the society for the prevention of cruelty  to  chil-
   dren, in relation to the effectiveness thereof
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 14 of chapter 329 of the laws of 2009, amending the
 family court act and  the  social  services  law  relating  to  removing
 special  powers  granted to the society for the prevention of cruelty to
 children, as amended by chapter 194 of the laws of 2023, is  amended  to
 read as follows:
   §  14.  This  act  shall  take  effect  immediately; provided that the
 provisions of sections eight and ten of this act shall expire August 11,
 [2025] 2027 and section thirteen of this act shall expire  December  31,
 2017,  when  upon  such  dates  the provisions of such sections shall be
 deemed repealed.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
