Establishes the "recovery ready workplace act"

Establishes the "recovery ready workplace act" which provides for the certification of an employer to become a recovery ready workplace; defines terms; establishes the recovery-ready workplace program; provides criteria for employers to obtain certification as a recovery ready workplace; provides for employee involvement.

VETO MESSAGE - No. 117 TO THE ASSEMBLY: I am returning herewith, without my approval, the following bill: Assembly Bill Number 521, entitled: "AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to establishing the "recovery ready workplace act"" NOT APPROVED This bill would require the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), in coordination with the Department of Labor, to establish a Recovery Ready Workplace program. Recovery Ready Workplace programs are intended to assist employers with developing policies and cultures that support individuals in recovery and prevent problematic substance use and addiction.
