Section 148 of Chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 official edition, is hereby amended by striking the fifth paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:- This section shall not apply to an employee of a co-operative association if he is a shareholder therein, unless he requests such association to pay him weekly, nor to casual employees as hereinbefore defined employed by the commonwealth or by any county, city or town.
