Section 7A of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “registration” the following:- “; provided, however, that for motor vehicles one model year old or less, the registrar shall require that the initial maintenance inspection mandated by this paragraph be valid for a period of two years, at which point the vehicle may receive two subsequent maintenance inspections that will be valid for periods of 2 years each.”
