SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law or by-law or ordinance to the contrary, no municipality that operates a permit program for the parking of motor vehicles for a duration between 2 days and 366 days shall charge in excess of a daily limit of $7 for each day of said permit's validity. SECTION 2. The daily limit established in section 1 shall be increased by $0.50 on December 31 of each year. SECTION 3. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2024
