Section 8A of chapter 278 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph:- If a person using this defense is found not guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, said person shall not be liable in civil proceedings for the injury or death of the person unlawfully in said dwelling.
