Section 414.1, subsection 1, paragraph e, Code 1 2026, is amended by striking the paragraph. 2 EXPLANATION 3 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 4 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 5 This bill relates to city regulation of short-term rental 6 properties. Under current law, a city shall not adopt or 7 enforce any regulation, restriction, or other ordinance, 8 including a conditional use permit requirement, relating to 9 short-term rental properties within the city. A city also 10 shall not require a license or permit fee for a short-term 11 rental property in the city. The bill strikes these 12 prohibitions.
