Senate File 2178 - Introduced SENATE FILE 2178 BY SHIPLEY A BILL FOR An Act relating to eligibility requirements for lifetime 1 hunting, fishing, and fur harvester licenses. 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 3 TLSB 6705XS (2) 91 sb/js S.F. 2178 Section 1. Section 483A.10, Code 2026, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 4. A person who should attain the age of 3 sixty-five at any point during the calendar year in which the 4 person applies is eligible for any lifetime hunting, fishing, 5 or fur harvester license issued by the department that requires 6 the applicant to have attained the age of sixty-five. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill relates to eligibility requirements for lifetime 11 hunting, fishing, and fur harvester licenses. The bill expands 12 eligibility requirements for any lifetime hunting, fishing, and 13 fur harvester license issued by the department that requires 14 the applicant to have attained the age of 65 to include any 15 person who should attain the age of 65 at any point during the 16 calendar year in which the person applies for the license. 17 -1- LSB 6705XS (2) 91 sb/js 1/ 1
