Senate File 2016 - Introduced SENATE FILE 2016 BY McCLINTOCK A BILL FOR An Act relating to the maximum age of a peace officer for the 1 department of public safety. 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 3 TLSB 5364XS (2) 91 as/js S.F. 2016 Section 1. Section 80.36, Code 2026, is amended to read as 1 follows: 2 80.36 Maximum age. 3 A person shall not be employed as a peace officer in the 4 department after attaining sixty-five sixty-seven years of age. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill increases the maximum age of a peace officer for 9 the department of public safety from 65 to 67 years of age. 10 -1- LSB 5364XS (2) 91 as/js 1/ 1
