Section 481A.54, Code 2026, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 2A. A person shall not shoot any rifle, 3 shotgun with a slug load, pistol, or revolver from any road, as 4 defined in section 306.3, subsection 8. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill relates to shooting from roads. The bill prohibits 9 a person from shooting any rifle, shotgun with a slug load, 10 pistol, or revolver from any road. The bill defines “road” 11 as the entire width between property lines through private 12 property or the designated width through public property of 13 every way or place of whatever nature if any part of such way or 14 place is open to the use of the public, as a matter of right, 15 for purposes of vehicular traffic. The bill does not apply to 16 any peace officer or military personnel in the performance of 17 their official duties. 18 A person who unlawfully shoots any rifle, shotgun, pistol, 19 or revolver from any road is subject to a scheduled fine of 20 $30. 21 -1- LSB 6035YH (2) 91 sb/js 1/ 1
