An act to amend Section 2710.5 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to healing arts. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST Existing law, the Nursing Practice Act, establishes the Board of Registered Nursing to license and regulate the practice of nursing. Existing law authorizes the board, with the permission of the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs, to form advisory committees to advise the board on the implementation of the act. This bill would remove the requirement that the board receive permission from the director to form those advisory committees. The people of the State of California do enact as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2710.5 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 2710.5. The board may form advisory committees to advise the board on the implementation of this chapter. Members of such advisory committees shall be entitled to a per diem and expenses as provided in Section 103.
