An act to amend Section 10110 of the Insurance Code, relating to life and disability insurance.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

Existing law generally regulates classes of insurance, including life and disability insurance. Existing law grants a person an insurable interest in the life and health of, among others, themselves or a person upon whom they depend for education or support.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.
Section 10110 of the Insurance Code is amended to read:
10110.
A person has an insurable interest in the life and health of:
(a) Themselves.
(b) A person on whom they depend wholly or in part for education or support.
(c) A person under a legal obligation to them for the payment of money or respecting property or services, of which death or illness might delay or prevent the performance.
(d) A person upon whose life an estate or interest vested in them depends.
