An act relating to health care. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST Existing law, the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975, provides for the licensure and regulation of health care service plans by the Department of Managed Health Care. Existing law requires a health care service plan’s assets to be invested in a prudent manner and requires the director of the department to determine the acceptability of a health care service plan’s investments, as specified. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require the public disclosure of material investment holdings of nonprofit organizations providing integrated health care service plans. The people of the State of California do enact as follows: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require the public disclosure of material investment holdings, including those held directly or indirectly through affiliated entities, of nonprofit organizations providing integrated health care service plans.
