9            AN ACT TO AMEND THE LAW REGARDING ALCOHOLIC

10           BEVERAGES; TO AUTHORIZE THE ISSUANCE OF ADDITIONAL

11           RETAIL LIQUOR PERMITS TO CERTAIN EXISTING HOLDERS OF

12           RETAIL LIQUOR PERMITS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

17                       RETAIL LIQUOR PERMITS TO CERTAIN

18                       EXISTING HOLDERS OF RETAIL LIQUOR

19                       PERMITS.

21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22

23  SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 3-4-205(b)(1)(A), concerning the

24 prohibition on issuing a retail liquor permit to a person, firm, or

25 corporation with an interest in another retail liquor permit, is amended to

26 read as follows:

27  (b)(1)(A) No Except as provided in subsection (e) of this section, a

28 retail liquor permit shall not be issued, either as a new permit or as a

29 replacement of an existing permit, to any person, firm, or corporation if the

30 person, firm, or corporation has any interest in another retail liquor

31 permit, regardless of the degree of interest.

33  SECTION 2. Arkansas Code � 3-4-205, concerning interests in other

34 retail liquor permits, is amended to add an additional subsection to read as

35 follows:

36  (e)(1) A person, firm, or corporation, after obtaining one (1) retail

1 liquor permit, may become the holder of up to two (2) additional retail

2 liquor permits.

3   (2)(A) A person, firm, or corporation may not hold more than one

4 (1) retail liquor permit in the same county.

5                  (B) An additional retail liquor permit may be held under

6 this subsection only in a county having a population of two hundred thousand

7 (200,000) or more persons in the most recent decennial census.
