9   AN ACT TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING THE POWERS AND

10  DUTIES OF THE OFFICE OF SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND THE

11  CAREER EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD; TO

12  ADDRESS THE POWERS AND DUTIES RELATED TO SECONDARY

13  TECHNICAL CENTERS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

17                       TO ADDRESS THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE

18                       OFFICE OF SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND THE

19                       CAREER EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE

20                       DEVELOPMENT BOARD RELATED TO SECONDARY

21                       TECHNICAL CENTERS.

23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

25  SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 25-30-102(a), concerning the powers and

26 duties of the Office of Skills Development and the Career Education and

27 Workforce Development Board, is amended to add an additional subdivision to

28 read as follows:

29  (13) Ensure that a public high school, a postsecondary technical

30 institute, a two-year college, or an education service cooperative that has

31 been approved by the Career Education and Workforce Development Board as a

32 secondary technical center begins operation with at least six (6) occupation

33 specific programs.
