9   AN ACT TO REPEAL THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE ARKANSAS

10  ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION SUBMIT A QUARTERLY

11  REPORT CONCERNING THE TRAINING ACTIVITIES OF THE

12  ARKANSAS INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER

13  PURPOSES.

17                       TO REPEAL THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE

18                       ARKANSAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

19                       SUBMIT A QUARTERLY REPORT CONCERNING THE

20                       TRAINING ACTIVITIES OF THE ARKANSAS

21                       INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAM.

23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

25  SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-50-102(b), concerning training activities

26 under the Arkansas Industry Training Program, is amended to read as follows:

27  (b)(1) Permissible training under subsection (a) of this section

28 includes without limitation:

29                       (A)(1) Upgrading skills and abilities of workers to

30 operate modern, more sophisticated equipment;

31                       (B)(2) Providing workers with skills needed for initiating

32 more modern processes and using more sophisticated materials; and

33                       (C)(3) Other situations which create a technical-upgrade

34 training need of employees.

35  (2) The commission shall prepare a quarterly report detailing

36 its training activities and submit that report to the Governor and the

 1 Legislative Council or, if the General Assembly is in session, the Joint
 2 Budget Committee.
