12 INDICATED ON A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE IN CERTAIN
13 CIRCUMSTANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

18 LEGEND OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES; AND
19 TO ALLOW A VEHICLE DRIVER TO ENTER AN
20 INTERSECTION WHILE A RED LIGHT IS
21 INDICATED ON A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE IN
22 CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

26 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 27-52-107(a)(3)(A), concerning exceptions
27 to when vehicular traffic facing a steady red traffic control light or a
28 traffic control signal exhibiting the word "STOP" shall stop and remain
29 standing, is amended to add an additional subdivision to read as follows:
30 (iii)(a) Vehicular traffic facing the signal may
31 cautiously enter the intersection if:
32 (1) There is no other vehicular traffic
33 approaching or in the intersection; and
34 (2) Before entering the intersection,
35 the operator of the vehicle comes to a complete stop on the near side of the
36 intersection before entering a crosswalk, clearly marked stop line, or point

1 nearest the intersecting roadway where the operator has a view of approaching
2 traffic on the intersecting roadway.
3 (b) If other vehicular traffic has entered the
4 intersection from another roadway or is approaching the intersection, the
5 operator of the vehicle shall not enter the intersection.
6 (c) If the operator of a vehicle enters an
7 intersection under this subdivision (a)(3)(A)(iii), all other vehicular
8 traffic approaching or entering the intersection after the operator of the
9 vehicle enters the intersection shall yield to the operator of the vehicle
10 entering the intersection; and
