14 CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER THE UNCLAIMED PROPERTY ACT; AND
15 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

21 OWNER UNDER THE UNCLAIMED PROPERTY ACT
22 IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

26 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 18-28-215, concerning the filing and
27 handling of a claim under the Unclaimed Property Act, is amended to add an
28 additional subsection to read as follows:
29 (e) The administrator may pay or deliver the property directly to a
30 person, excluding another state, who does not file a claim under subsection
31 (a) of this section if:
32 (1) The person receiving the property is named as the apparent
33 owner of the property in a report filed under this subchapter;
34 (2) The administrator reasonably believes the person is entitled
35 to receive the property; and
36 (3) The property has a value of less than five thousand dollars
