15 TAX COLLECTOR IN PERRY COUNTY.

17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19 SECTION 1. DO NOT CODIFY.
20 (a) Effective January 1, 2027, the offices of sheriff and tax
21 collector in Perry County, Arkansas, shall be separate offices.
22 (b) At the 2026 general election, the electors of Perry County shall
23 elect both a sheriff and a tax collector, and each officer so elected shall
24 take office on January 1, 2027.
25 (c) The sheriff and the tax collector in Perry County shall each give
26 bond for the faithful performance of their respective duties as provided by
27 law.
28 (d) The sheriff and the tax collector of Perry County shall each
29 receive compensation that shall be determined by the Perry County Quorum
30 Court within the minimum and maximum compensation range prescribed by the
31 General Assembly and shall hire deputies and have other allowances as
32 prescribed by the Perry County Quorum Court.
