9           AN ACT TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING STATEWIDE CHILD

10          ABDUCTION RESPONSE TEAMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

14                       TO AMEND THE LAW CONCERNING STATEWIDE

15                       CHILD ABDUCTION RESPONSE TEAMS.

17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19  SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 9-32-101 is amended to read as follows:

20  9-32-101. Collaboration of state agencies to form and implement

21 statewide child abduction response teams.

22  (a)(1) The following agencies shall collaborate in a multiagency

23 effort to rescue abducted or endangered children, implement one (1) or more

24 statewide child abduction response teams, and allocate the respective

25 resources of each agency to cases involving missing or endangered children:

26                       (A) Office of the Attorney General Attorney General's

27 office;

28                       (B) Division of Arkansas State Police;

29                       (C) Criminal Justice Institute;

30                       (D) Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission;

31                       (E) Arkansas Sheriffs' Association;

32                       (F) Division of Emergency Management;

33                       (G) Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police;

34                       (H) Division of Community Correction; and

35                       (I) Office of the Prosecutor Coordinator.

36          (2) Each agency listed under subdivision (a)(1) of this section

1 shall:

2                 (A) Execute a memorandum of understanding concerning the

3 guidelines for the implementation of one (1) or more statewide child

4 abduction response teams; and

5                 (B) Respectively respectively coordinate the available

6 resources of the agency to implement one (1) or more statewide child

7 abduction response teams and adhere to the executed memorandum of

8 understanding.

9         (b) The Division of Arkansas State Police shall:

10             (1) Assemble one (1) or more statewide child abduction response

11 teams; and

12             (2) Ensure that the agencies listed under subsection (a) of this

13 section work in partnership to:

14                (A) Respond to child abduction incidents; and

15                (B) Provide preventative measures for child abduction.

16        (c) The Criminal Justice Institute shall coordinate the certification

17 and recertification of each statewide child abduction response team.
