22 WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY.

24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

26 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 12-26-103, as amended by Acts 2025, No.
27 172, is amended to read as follows:
28 12-26-103. Office of Criminal Detention Facilities Review Coordinator
29 -- Creation -- Duties.
30 (a) There is established the Office of Criminal Detention Facilities
31 Review Coordinator within the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement
32 Standards and Training of the Department of Public Safety which shall consist
33 of:
34 (1) A Criminal Detention Facilities Review Coordinator, who
35 shall be hired and employed by and serve at the pleasure of the Secretary of
36 the Department of Public Safety;

1 (2) An administrative assistant; and
2 (3) Other staff permanently or temporarily assigned from within
3 the Department of Public Safety.
4 (b) The office shall be responsible for promulgating, upon approval of
5 the secretary, minimum standards for the construction, maintenance, and
6 operation of local, county, regional, or state criminal detention facilities
7 and juvenile detention facilities in accordance with the Arkansas
8 Administrative Procedure Act, � 25-15-201 et seq.
9 (c) The coordinator shall perform all duties assigned by the secretary
10 Director of the Division of Law Enforcement Standards and Training to assure
11 uniformity in the interpretation and administration of the minimum standards
12 by the several criminal facility detention review committees.
