24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

26 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 20-18-203(b), concerning the State
27 Registrar of Vital Records, is amended to add an additional subdivision to
28 read as follows:
29 (6) The state registrar shall coordinate with the University of
30 Arkansas for Medical Sciences to contact mothers of infants registering for a
31 certificate of birth in this state to provide the mothers with support and
32 assistance during the postpartum period.
