25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-24-102(1), concerning the definition of
28 "administrator" as it relates to ethical guidelines and prohibitions, is
29 amended to read as follows:
30 (1) "Administrator" means any a superintendent or assistant
31 superintendent or his or her equivalent, school district treasurer, business
32 manager, principal, assistant principal, curriculum director, or other
33 individual directly responsible for entity-wide purchasing;

35 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code � 6-24-102(16), concerning the definition of
36 "public educational entity" as it relates to ethical guidelines and

1 prohibitions, is amended to read as follows:
2 (16)(A) "Public educational entity" means Arkansas public school
3 districts, public schools, charter schools, education service cooperatives,
4 or any publicly supported entity having supervision over public educational
5 entities.
6 (B) "Public educational entity" does not include
7 institutions of higher education.

9 SECTION 3. Arkansas Code � 6-24-111(a)(1), concerning restrictions on
10 employment of an administrator, is amended to read as follows:
11 (a)(1) Unless written approval is granted by the public school
12 district board of directors currently employing an administrator and the
13 Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, it is a breach of the
14 ethical standards of this chapter for administrators to be or become the
15 employee, agent, or independent contractor of any party contracting with the
16 public educational entity the administrators serve.
