19 REQUIRE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEMS IN
20 SCHOOL BUSES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-19-130, concerning school bus passenger
25 restraint systems, is amended to add an additional subsection to read as
26 follows:
27 (g) If a school district does not place a proposal on the ballot for
28 the next school election under subsection (e) of this section or elect to
29 purchase, install, and maintain passenger restraint systems as specified in
30 subsection (f) of this section, then twenty-five percent (25%) of the state
31 transportation funding allocated to the school district shall be withheld
32 until the school district either places a proposal on the ballot for the next
33 school election or purchases, installs, and maintains passenger restraint
34 systems for all newly purchased school buses.
