9         AN ACT TO AMEND THE DEFINITION OF "SPECIALTY

10        HOSPITAL" RELATING TO THE ASSESSMENT FEE ON HOSPITALS

11        UNDER THE ARKANSAS MEDICAID PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER

12        PURPOSES.

16                       TO AMEND THE DEFINITION OF "SPECIALTY

17                       HOSPITAL" RELATING TO THE ASSESSMENT FEE

18                       ON HOSPITALS UNDER THE ARKANSAS MEDICAID

19                       PROGRAM.

21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

23        SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 20-77-1901(7), concerning the definition of

24 "specialty hospital" relating to the assessment fee on hospitals, is amended

25 to read as follows:

26        (7) "Specialty hospital" means an acute care general hospital

27 that:

28                       (A) Limits services primarily to children and qualifies as

29 exempt from the Medicare prospective payment system regulation; or

30                       (B) Is primarily or exclusively engaged in the care and

31 treatment of patients with:

32                          (i) Cardiac cardiac conditions; or

33                          (ii) Orthopedic or spinal conditions;
