9       AN ACT TO ALLOW A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT TO USE STATE

10      FUNDS TO PAY FOR AN ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM WITH

11      WHICH IT CONTRACTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

15                       TO ALLOW A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT TO USE

16                       STATE FUNDS TO PAY FOR AN ADULT

17                       EDUCATION PROGRAM WITH WHICH IT

18                       CONTRACTS.

20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22      SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-18-201(e)(1), concerning contracts

23 between public school districts and adult education programs, is amended to

24 read as follows:

25      (e)(1) Nothing in this section shall prohibit a public school district

26 from continuing with an adult education program to provide educational

27 services to sixteen-year-olds and seventeen-year-olds enrolled in the public

28 school district if a contract is negotiated between the public school

29 district and the adult education program that includes:

30                       (A)(i) Financial considerations for serving the students

31 enrolled in the public school districts district.

32                             (ii) A public school district may use available

33 state funds, including without limitation state foundation funding aid under

34 � 6-20-2305, to pay for an adult education program, including without

35 limitation a GED program, with which the public school district contracts;
