18 DEFINITION OF "APPROVED INSTITUTION OF
19 HIGHER EDUCATION".

21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

23 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-85-204(3), concerning the definition of
24 "approved institution of higher education" under the Arkansas Academic
25 Challenge Scholarship Program, is amended to read as follows:
26 (3)(A) "Approved institution of higher education" means an
27 institution of higher education approved by the division to participate in
28 the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship Program and that is:
29 (i) A state-supported two-year or four-year college
30 or university;
31 (ii) A private, nonprofit two-year or four-year
32 college or university with its primary headquarters located in Arkansas that
33 is eligible to receive Title IV federal student aid funds;
34 (iii) An approved school of nursing, subject to the
35 provisions of � 6-85-213(c);
36 (iv)(a) A public or private vocational-technical

2 (b) A public or private vocational-technical
3 school shall be bonded and insured; or
4 (v)(a) A public or private technical institute.
5 (b) A public or private technical institute
6 shall be bonded and insured; or
7 (vi) A training program that offers a certificate
8 upon completion and that is part of a state-supported two-year or four-year
9 college or university, including without limitation the Arkansas Fire
10 Training Academy.
11 (B) An approved institution of higher education that is a
12 private, nonprofit two-year or four-year college or university shall be
13 eligible to receive Title IV federal student aid funds;
