9               AN ACT TO AMEND THE EXPIRATION DATE OF ALL LICENSES

10              OF THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE

11              PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

15                       TO AMEND THE EXPIRATION DATE OF ALL

16                       LICENSES OF THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN

17                       SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY.

19 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

20

21        SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 17-100-305(a)-(c), concerning the annual

22 review of licenses issued by the Board of Examiners in Speech-Language

23 Pathology and Audiology, are amended to read as follows:

24        (a) Licenses issued under this chapter expire and become invalid at

25 12:00 midnight, June 30, of each year if not renewed each year.

26        (b) To maintain a license, a person licensed under this chapter shall

27 pay a fee for renewal of license to the Board of Examiners in Speech-Language

28 Pathology and Audiology on or before June 30 the expiration date of each

29 year.

30        (c)(1)(A) If a request for renewal is postmarked on or before July 15

31 fifteen (15) days after the expiration date:

32                               (i) The request shall not be considered late; and

33                               (ii) The licensee shall not be:

34                               (a) Considered as practicing without a

35 license; or

36                               (b) Charged a late fee.

1            (B) If payment of the renewal fee is postmarked on or

2 after July 16 sixteen (16) days after the expiration date of any given year,

3 the board may renew a license upon payment of the renewal of license fee plus

4 a late renewal payment penalty, which shall equal the amount prescribed for

5 late penalty per month under � 17-100-308.

6            (C) A license renewed under this subsection becomes

7 effective on the day after the request for renewal is postmarked.

8            (2) A person who requests renewal of a license, whose license

9 has expired, shall not be required to submit to examination as a condition to

10 renewal.
